What quality is the MP3?
The honest answer is that we give you the best audio the video actually contains, and no more. A typical talking-head upload carries 128 to 160 kbps; official music releases are often 256 kbps or higher. What we will not do is upscale a 128 kbps source and label it 320, which some converters happily do — the number changes, the sound does not, and the file just gets bigger. VidKeep pulls the audio stream YouTube already stores separately from the video, so nothing is re-encoded twice and nothing is lost in a second conversion. If the source is poor, the MP3 will be poor, and we would rather tell you that upfront than sell a bigger number. Extraction is free and needs no account. One practical note: if you plan to keep a whole album, download the tracks one link at a time rather than through a playlist tool — per-video links are far less likely to break halfway through and leave you with silent files.
