Cookies & local storage
Last updated 2026-07-28
VidKeep sets no cookies. It stores three small values in your browser so the tool remembers your settings.
No cookies, no trackers
We do not set cookies, we run no analytics, and there are no advertising or tracking pixels on this site. Nothing here follows you to other sites.
What is stored, and why
Three values live in your browser's local storage. None of them is sent anywhere for profiling:
- vk_license — your Pro licence key, so this browser stays unlocked without an account
- vk_lang — the language you chose, so the site stops guessing from your location
- vk_theme — light or dark preference
Why we do not ask for consent
Under the ePrivacy rules, storing information on your device needs consent unless it is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. These three are exactly that: without them Pro would lock on every page load, the language would reset, and the theme would flip back. Nothing optional is stored, so there is no consent banner to click through.
Removing them
Clearing site data for vidkeep.app in your browser deletes all three. Your Pro licence is not lost — the key still works; paste it again to unlock the browser.
